CONNECT PLAYSTATION 3 TO NETGEAR DG834GV3 WIRELESS ROUTER

Problem: PlayStation 3 can't connect to a wireless network using a Netgear DG834Gv3 router. While establishing a connection using the WEP, WPA or WPA2 encryption the PlayStation 3 responds with the following error message: "Check your wireless security settings".

Solution: The Netgear DG834Gv3 firmware versions, namely 4.01.30 and 4.01.27, contain an error that makes it impossible for the PlayStation 3 to connect to the wireless network using a WEP, WPA or WPA2 encryption. The problem can be solved by downgrading to the firmware version 4.01.04. This firmware version enables the PlayStation 3 to connect to the wireless network without applying any changes to the router settings.

Note: This problem has been fixed in version 4.01.37!

SAFARI: OPEN LINKS IN NEW TAB INSTEAD OF NEW WINDOW

Problem: By default, Safari 4 opens targeted links in new windows instead of new tabs and it does not provide any option to force new pages to be opened in a new window or in a new tab (as Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer do).

Solution: On a Mac, this problem can be solved by starting the Terminal and entering the following command:

defaults write com.apple.Safari TargetedClicksCreateTabs -bool true

It is possible to undo this setting by invoking:

defaults write com.apple.Safari TargetedClicksCreateTabs -bool false
